Bondi and Bands

I obviously can't  fill you in on all the craziness and all the stories since I've been here.  But just suffice it to say that by the end of this past week, I was exhausted.  Stressed about getting settled into classes (which for the most part are actually going quite well), among other things...I needed a reminder of why I am down here.  Yesterday provided that for me.  I, along with some other friends from various exchange programs, took the train to the famous Bondi Beach.  Now, it is technically winter here, and it was not exactly beach weather yesterday, but we decided to walk around and check out the area.  Starting from Bondi Beach, there is an awesome path that hugs the cliff line down the coast a few kilometers. It is hard to describe unless you go there in person, but it is just an epic walk.  The rugged cliffs jutting into the Ocean, with the waves crashing against the rock-- its truly an amazing sight.  Granted, I'm from California, and I have seen plenty of beautiful ocean vantages...but I have discovered that everywhere you go it is always different.  The California Coast, while spectacular, is different than the Bondi Cliffs; both are great- but being at Bondi yesterday provided an overwhelming new and exciting environment.  Anyways, we walked down the path for quite a ways, taking great pictures and having a fun time along the way.
In the evening, part of the group parted ways, and four of us decided to go into the city to find some live music.  We found this music venue/club right near Central station just a bit outside of downtown.  For $15 we sat  for a few hours and listened to four different Australian small time bands.  Each of the bands had a different feel, and some were definitely better than others (or at least were more in the genre I prefer), but it was really cool listening to real aussie bands--a nice break from the overly popularized "pop" music heard everywhere.  Overall, it was just a fun day, reminding me of how fortunate I am to be in Australia!
The video below is a rather "interesting"music video for the new single released by my favorite band of the night.
